An object provides a simultaneously simple and complex challenge to the photographer.
The best photographers are able to transform a single, seemingly innocuous and trivial thing into an object of depth and profundity.

Still Life - Representaion of 'Me'

Research - Sophie Calle

I chose these two images of Sophie Calle's to focus on and give me inspiration for my project, as i liked the idea of using objects to reflect something, whether it be a message or a story.

For my previous work I used models, so for this project I wanted to try something different, such as objects, like Sophie Calle's work above.

As these photographs aren't inluding models, (which are normally used to express all types of emotions, products and stories) the main focus is entirely on the objects allowing the viewer(s) to interpret their own meaning and concept without any model influence.

Summer Project : Still Life - Portrait

A photograph is the result of a number of decisions made by the photographer.


- How does an image make you feel? Has it an underlying meaning? A secret message? What does it represent?


Through different ideas i'm going to create an image which will represent me and who I am, without physically including me in the photo.
